How this is calculated
Planetary positions come from real astronomy formulas (Meeus's solar/lunar equations and JPL's orbital elements for the other planets) — the same category of math real ephemeris software uses. Precision is roughly 0.01° for the Sun, 0.2–0.4° for the Moon, and 0.5–1° for the other planets — accurate enough for correct sign, nakshatra, and dasha placement in the vast majority of cases.
